New SoBE Interdisciplinary Student Design Competition
3rd Year, Integrated Design Studio, 2016 + 4th Year, Complex Studio, 2017
The New SoBE Interdisciplinary Student Design Competition was a 'Pariah' initiative in which the 2016 Top 10 Shortlisted projects, as voted by a panel of national judges including representatives from HASSELL, JCY, and John Wardle Architects, as well as the 2017 Top 10 projects, were chosen as the best representations of the New School of Built Environment’s vision. The shortlisted designs encapsulate the driving idea of the school, one which engages the city and world, not a mere 'work of art in itself (lipstick), but a physical framework for continuous change (deciduous); an incubator for innovation with a general workshop character and a place firmly rooted on values of the land and the first people of Australia.
