HUB

Situated in the middle of the new Curtin district, the new SoBE building (F06) shares a highly active framework with F05 and the current medical building. This development intends to innovate an integrated learning experience where not only SoBE related users are welcome but enthusiasts as well. The design of the building centres on socialising and offering shared facilities through ground activation. In addition, F06’s proximity to the yet to be constructed bus hub would allow commuters to interact with the building on an accelerated level through its shops and public facilities that would stimulate people towards them visually. On the higher levels, it slowly switches towards the more specialist uses of the building catered towards SoBE users. It is a functional funnel in terms of use and design. The outcome of this project came through careful consideration and assessment of current and future conditions that are associated with the vision and philosophy of learning and teaching at Curtin in the hopes of creating a future city-like campus that would cater to multiple brackets of our community.
