A Transaction Revisited
While human life is affected by nature, human-made environment reciprocally impacts nature. Flora and fauna are critical eco systems that quite often get unsympathetically removed from its original habitat in the creation of human-made environments. Therefore, ecology as the design philosophy, the proposed architectural resolution invites built environment to harmoniously co-exist with nature. This design also send an urgent message to all built environment designers and expresses a respectful way to approach future architecture. For instance, the landscape system within the building embodies respectful transactions between humans and nature; first, giving nature back what the built environment has taken from nature. Furthermore, the landscape not only connects areas, community, but also advances people’s socio-psychological wellbeing. Ecologically, the landscape plays a role as a water refining system which offers multiple advantages of waste water re-harvesting. On the other hand, passive systems such as wind and solar energy supports the running of the system. The design employs SoBE building as a built environment education model where core learning is facilitated within the premise itself.
