"The first time I stayed at Curtin till dark it was unintentioned. The dark rooms on the fourth level of 201 are windowless and and solitary. It is easy to forget the time. Curtin at night is like a city. Every light on campus was an oasis; the levels of the library floated like a barge in the night and the lights in the pines were strung like carnival tents.I remember being shocked because I expected to see the late afternoon sun. It was like being locked alone inside a shopping mall after closing. That carelessness sparked a very bad habit. My record is four days."
